Weinrestaurant Turmschänke in Eisenach

A restaurant that, if you are a little demanding, definitely not to be missed in Eisenach. The four of us ordered various dishes and were all very satisfied. The service was very nice and courteous. For me it was a memory of my two-time participation in the "Rennsteig" super marathon, approx. 72 km.

The best restaurant in town offers a small but exclusive and tasty selection of dishes. The ambience is dignified, the staff friendly. The dishes consistently convince in terms of taste.

A very nice evening with very nice service and delicious food ...... and everyone is very dog-friendly.

Thanks for cooking, tasted very delicious, 5 * A whole group comes in Corona times could see a restaurant with joy, but: The behavior of your waitress (a middle-aged gentleman, there was only one male waiter) shocked me as a guest, it was unprofessional, and pompous. Conclusion: as a guest you don't want to be treated like that. Talking to the boss also makes things worse. I have never seen such sloppy behavior from a waiter And when I have a choice; then maybe better to go to the Greek I drink ouzo, what are you drinking ... then I could joke with the waiter.

Had redeemed a * Candle Light Dinner Deluxe * from Jochen Schweizer in the Turmschänke wine restaurant and were blown away by this outstanding taste explosion yesterday evening. It was amazing. This wine restaurant has more than earned the Michelin. Many thanks to the host and chef Ulrich Rösch & his entire team!

After reading all the reviews, we decided to redeem our Jochen Schweizer voucher here ... The description then read ... Power: A romantic table with candles and flowers awaits you. Enjoy the 4-course menu, where you can choose between meat, fish and vegetarian. Wine of your choice to accompany the menu, non-alcoholic drinks and coffee are included in the voucher price. So far so good... We started a supposedly beautiful evening with high expectations. We arrived and stood in the entrance area as ordered and not picked up until the table was assigned to us. The table looked like everyone else. A small tealight and a wilted orchid stood on our table, there was nothing romantic here and the "candlelight" was more than off. The atmosphere was uncomfortable, very dark and inappropriate music in the background. Then let's go ... Food: We would be asked if everything suits our taste as far as possible and we started. Modifications would be accepted, but the cellar probably overheard the desire to have my meat cooked through. Before that, he explained to me that they are a decent restaurant and that pork is always served well cooked. Well ... it wasn't good! The basement seemed a bit arrogant and simply unappealing in its way. To be honest, the best thing about the menu was the baguette and the butter that came with it ... It wasn't our taste at all. At the end of the dinner the plates were picked up and then we sat there .. waiting for what? Then we just left. The dinner and the wine were definitely not worth 150 €. PS: back pain is guaranteed with the chairs.

A very exquisite menu with unusual ingredients! The Turmschänke simply presents something different than usual, combining ingredients that I have never seen on a menu before. A unique taste and pleasure experience!

Food, service and ambience - everything was absolutely TOP. And at a really good price / performance ratio. Bib more than earned.

From aperitif to digestif, everything is an absolute pleasure. Seldom fed so well. Absolutely courteous and professional service. We were pampered for 3.5 hours and just say thank you and we'll be back. I can only recommend it!

We went to the tower tavern twice. Both times were a culinary experience! Very imaginative fine cuisine. Great wine selection. Very courteous service (even without evening dress 😉, the criticism with the jeans is not understandable. There must have been something else behind it)

After reading the other reviews: try the delicious food and don't miss the very good wine selection! Great service, very good restaurant! While I and my companion in other restaurants in Eisenach were already biased and terribly entertained, we had no problems here. By the way, my visit to the tower tavern was also in jeans, we arrived at half past nine and had not made a reservation: on request we were quickly given a table. We were received as normal. The waiter was friendly and patient while serving because my company spoke broken German - but the waiter was always nice and polite. Of course, as with the other guests, the small talk did not take place at neighboring tables, but we also came to eat and not to make friends with the service. We were both allowed to taste the wine, we were given a very good recommendation and the greeting from the kitchen (pheasant breast) was just the beginning. The whole meal was very good, the asparagus was delicious, the meat was great, and the extra virgin olive oil! Finally, the spinach salad with tabbouleh unfortunately fell under the category "What the German understands tabboulé / a foreign dish" and has little in common with an Arabic tabbouleh, but was nevertheless tasty. We were not made to feel that we were much younger than the other guests, nor that my appearance in jeans was inappropriate (as other reviewers wrote). We were greeted warmly and were the last guests to leave that evening. It was cozy: a very good meal in a sophisticated, old-German atmosphere, friendly service. Only the reference to cheap wines was a little inappropriate: I decide myself when something seems too expensive.

A visit to the tower tavern is definitely recommended. Great ambience and friendly service. The dishes are made by hand and are of high quality. Every dish is a special taste experience. Reservation is recommended. Definitely something special for an evening for two or with good friends in a small group.

Simply great! There is nothing to complain about. The best Iberico pig I've ever eaten. Creme brule with red wine ice cream - great!

Excellent restaurant in a historic setting. Fine dining with creative, yet regionally authentic cuisine. Make sure to reserve a table, you might not get one otherwise. We were still lucky to find a spot next to the kitchen. Friendly and efficient service. One star missing because of too rustic ambience with a bit too much dust..

Very nice restaurant with class ambiance located in a medieval tower. Very good kitchen and friendly staff. Everything is just right here. Highly recommended, but definitely book!

The service is excellent. The food perfectly prepared. And fine dining in a bit of Germany's living history is an experience to be cherished!
